Our vision is to serve as equippers of those who desire to bring about healing, not only to sex addicts, but also to the people in their circle of destructive relationships. Since 2004, our sexual addiction training for counselors entitled FREEDOM BEGINS HERE – Diagnosis and Treatment of Sexual Addiction has provided training to help bring about healing to the millions who are caught in the stronghold of Sexual Addiction.

What is Freedom Begins Here?
In an effort to be as relevant to individuals, churches, counseling ministries, and the like (not to mention the fact that 9 times out of 10 we had to correct the pronunciation of Elucida [“ee-LU-cee -da”] and explain what it meant – not the best plan for future brand recognition) we have adopted our slogan “freedom begins here”. So, as we entered this new year, we have taken a very strategic step forward by moving the offerings of Elucida Learning under the FREEDOM BEGINS HERE brand.

History
Freedom Begins Here was developed by Gray Communications, Inc. GCI, a Christ-centered video production company, offers Freedom Begins Here the ideal combination of production capability, experience, faith and a talented production team. In 2000, GCI began what would become a long-standing working relationship with the American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC). Dr. Gary Oliver of The Center for Relationship Enrichment at John Brown University introduced GCI to AACC. Over the course of six years, GCI has filmed and edited multiple products for AACC.

Not only has working with AACC provided invaluable experience for GCI, it has also enabled GCI to form close relationships with some of today’s most well-known and respected Christian authors and counselors. This is where Freedom Begins Here’s story begins.

Freedom Begins Here was conceived three years ago when we partnered with Dr. Mark Laaser, the leading Christian authority on sexual addiction, to develop a faith-based video curriculum on the topic of sexual addiction. The curriculum, entitled Freedom Begins Here, provides training and information to bring about healing to the millions who are caught in the stronghold of Internet pornography, affairs or other sexual acting out. This resource is a vital link between those who desire to bring about healing, not only to sex addicts, but also to the people in their circle of destructive relationships. Effectively, Freedom Begins Here was formed in response to the demand for video-based continuing education curriculums among Christian mental health professionals and pastoral counselors.
